Question about the house party (a fortnight from right now!):

What should we do about food? I'm thinking about starting up at maybe 6 or 7, and I'm happy to put out snack type stuff and throw on some burgers, but putting together dinner for 30 might be beyond the reach of my schedule and budget.

Should we assume people will have dinner before they show up? Should we kick in and have a bunch of pizza delivered? Is a pot luck worth even attempting?

Not a problem, as the guy who built this place was obsessed with electric outlets -- the guest bedroom literally has eight of them. Eight. In one basic bedroom.

Angola, we'll go mano y mano with the queso. Mine is the best in the world, no crock pot required.

Mr. Babar, I agree that you shouldn't have to provide dinner for a small SJ army, especially since you're already opening up your home, but potluck might not be feasible for those of us traveling from great distances.

I say we either take up a collection to stock the grill with burgers and dogs, or take up a collection for you to order up some family-style eating (surely there's a local restaurant that does giant platters of sandwiches or spaghetti or something). Thoughts from other partygoers?

Plans already are in place for me to bring a case or so of Yuengling. I'd also be more than glad to toss in $20 for house-party food, whatever that may be (pizza is another option).

Oooh, I dig the we-all-pitch-in-and-get-a-local-place-to-cater idea, whether it's giant sandwich/sub platters or whatever. Count me in for $20, for food and beer.

Set up a PayPal account, AB (if you don't already have one), and I'll pitch in right now.

I'm down with that, too. Tell us where to send money.

So this party starts before the game?
How is everyone getting out there? Cabs?

I'm happy to be a team player and donate $20 to a party fund, even though I'm not a partier.

Yeah, I assumed this was a post-game thing. If we start at 6, when do we go to the game? 7th inning?
