I may eat the $20 or whatever and hang at Arnold's...assuming I get enough Ichiro Friday night.

That might be a stretch, if you know what I mean.

OK, I found this place as a possibility for Thursday night. According to the map, it's exactly three blocks from our place (we're at 5th and Blanchard, this is at 2nd and Blanchard).

The reviews sound like just about anyone could fit in there. Still looking, but thought we might want to at least have a starting spot rather than just wandering.

SElfishly, I vote for this place. They have a hip-hop/pop room. :D

No idea where it is in relation to the hotel though. Don't care. :D

What do you care, you'll be in the hip-hop room? Hip-hopping or whatever one does in such a place.

Sorry, I meant to advise on places for that night. I love Lava Lounge (I'll regale you with a great story if we go there), and it would be perfect, though it's not huge and you never know when places in Belltown are going to be jammed. Not a dance club or anything, though, if you're looking for that.

I like the place next door even better: Shorty's.

    http://www.shortydog.com/

They have a room with like 20 pinball machines, the booths in the front bar have old pinball machine bodies as tables, and they sell hot dogs behind the bar -- chili dogs and fancy combos with cream cheese and stuff. The main room isn't set up very well for big groups to hang together, but the new Trophy Room in the back is ideal. There's pictures and a menu and everything on their site.

Also on that block: a marvelous late night drunk Mexican food place, Mama's. I think they own the Lava too.

For my money, this is the funnest single block in downtown Seattle. It's kind of hip but laid back and not pretentious like much of that area. I don't dig pretentious, and I hate dance clubs. If the ladies are looking to go dancing later, this area would still be a great meet-up place.

Awesome! I like the idea of Shorty's...who doesn't love pinball?

But where's the hip-hop place? Hey pall, hip-hop is a different place, douche. The Lava Lounge is rock Thursday night.

All right, let's get the ground rules for Thursday night settled. Are we just looking for a place to all eat together, or are we looking for a kind of dressy/casual place for more of a formalish sit-down dinner? I'm all cornfused and shit.
