I'm afraid all the way over here. I'm afraid my late-night flight is going to get diverted.

We land at 10:30 if anyone wants to meet/eat late. Moddy don't do clubbing.

They have a room with like 20 pinball machines, the booths in the front bar have old pinball machine bodies as tables, and they sell hot dogs behind the bar -- chili dogs and fancy combos with cream cheese and stuff. The main room isn't set up very well for big groups to hang together, but the new Trophy Room in the back is ideal. There's pictures and a menu and everything on their site.

Also on that block: a marvelous late night drunk Mexican food place, Mama's. I think they own the Lava too.

For my money, this is the funnest single block in downtown Seattle. It's kind of hip but laid back and not pretentious like much of that area. I don't dig pretentious, and I hate dance clubs. If the ladies are looking to go dancing later, this area would still be a great meet-up place.

Just went to Shorty's website, and I must say I'm disappointed in the lack of a Carolina-style dog. Ah well. The pinballs make up for it.

Also, mark me down in the do not want column for clubs. Can't dance, don't clean up that well, can't handle the rejection when I'm the only one the bouncer won't let in.

I believe they have a pretzel dog too, and since they make the greatest pretzel ever, it'd have to be awesome.

I don't remember a pretzel dog. But their late-night menu added $1.99 dogs.

Seriously, there was a bar in Indiana like that -- a few floors and multiple themed music rooms with a central dance floor/gathering place and bars set up strategically throughout.

went to a place like that in texas. i hated every floor/room. the jello shots were good, though.

Graham Central Station's jello shots suck.

Also, the first bar Babar linked looks solid. Oh, and I'm definitely not going clubbing. I want to just sit and talk, or play pinball or darts or pool or whatever.
