Does it make sense at all for me to rent a car? I'll be there Wednesday through Monday, then leaving on Tuesday morn at like 6. Because if I rent something, I can be up for helping on the transport tip.

Yes, I said tip. Like it's 1992. Fuck you.

Not if you are going to be hanging out in downtown for most of your trip.

The buses are free in the downtown area, so unless you want to go see Microsoft or Boeing or something, there is no reason to rent a car.

I understand Boeing is beautiful this time of the year.

I was just checking my flights and I have 50 minutes between when I land in Cincinnati and when my flight leaves there for Seattle. It's a Delta flight so I'm putting odds at 2-1 that my bag of clothes doesn't make it to Seattle when I do.

Just as a PSA for anyone interested in seeing the same sights I do, here's kinda what I'm looking at for my sked:

    Thursday
    - Arrive 1 p.m., check in/get settled
    - Dinner whenever, wherever
    - Hit the town whenever, wherever

    Friday
    - A.M.: Pike Place, shopping/sights
    - P.M.: Late lunch at Pioneer Square (plus Ebbets Field Flannels, Elliott Bay books)
    - Ballgame, 7 p.m.
    - Late dinner and postgame debauchery (Hooverville?)

    Saturday
    - A.M.: Space Needle (if it's not crowded), Experience Music Project (museum area)
    - Puget Sound ferry (I like this one: http://www.argosycruises.com/publiccruises/harbor.cfm)
    - P.M. Seafood dinner on the water (recommendations?)
    - ArnoldBabar party :D

    Sunday
    - Depart for Sea-Tac at 8:30 a.m.

Again, those are my priorities for what I want to do/see, but I'm game to play along if anybody's got better ideas. Whoever wants to join me, by all means let me know. Some of you have my cell, and I'll have e-mail/PM access on my phone all weekend.

You aren't going to Saturday's game?
I'm up for the Saturday plans through dinner, then we're heading to the game. We were going to do Pike Place on Friday but can wait.

Nope. I've never been to the PNW, so there's a lot I want to see. Safeco's just one of them.

(Contrary to popular belief, baseball is not my only interest. ;))

Actually, Pike might work better Friday, because it's closer to Pioneer Square/Safeco (both of which I want to hit Friday, too.)

So I think I'm going to switch that and EMP/Space Needle to Saturday. Good call.

We're not leaving until Wednesday so we'll do a lot of sightseeing on Monday and Tuesday. I want to leave sufficient "hang out" time for the weekend. The Queen has the guidebooks in hand as we speak.

    And I'm glad to help.

Anthony's is a decent waterfront seafood place. And the copper-river salmon run is in right now:

Yeah, I wish now we had planned to stay longer, but I made plans based on the job I had at the time. Not much I can do about it now. Oh well.

I figure we'll all have plenty of "hang-out time" on Thursday night, at the game Friday and at the party Saturday. But in between ... there's stuff I gotta see. :D

I'll be "hanging" in the air on Thursday. The Queen has to work a half day, unfortunately.

She found a Saturday ferry thing to some island (Bainbridge?) - about 35 minutes. There's some sort of Saturday street market type thing there that she finds interesting along with a bookstore that strikes her fancy.
