Also wanting to know: literally everybody else at the Seattle Times.

Everyone except Geoff Baker, apparently, which is super interesting and might explain (not excuse, but explain) some of the silence from upper management.

The Defector story quotes Marisa as saying Times editors told her she was fired over concerns about her writing.

I’ll assume that’s work for them, not on Twitter.

Anyway, you can drive a truck through that hole. Was she not hitting deadline? Misspelling every other word? Not familiar with the inverted pyramid? Making up quotes?

She’s worked in the business for a while, so I’m guessing the answer to the above is no, no, no and no.

I’ve followed her career from a distance. She got tossed on the Bruins beat relatively early, and she managed to hang in there. She’s no Fluto or KPD, but that’s not an insult — few people are Fluto or KPD.

I’m interested to see how this plays out.

Weird that this didn't blow up until the job opening was posted. And not when, you know, she was fired.

Everyone together, count of three: "It's a personel matter."

And I liked my title better, but will defer to Moddy.

It was clear something happened...she went silent and the Times was scrubbed from her bio. Perhaps she was trying to get her job back and then decided to go public when the ad went up.

See, it's this kind of tweet by him that opens the door ...

Think he had anything to do with her firing? I'd say no probably, but would still want an intrepid reporter to connect any dots.

Maybe he went all Thiel on her behind the scenes.

    From the Defector story:

Ingemi had two weeks until the end of her six-month probationary period as defined in Article 5 of the Seattle Times contract with the Pacific Northwest Newspaper Guild. During that probationary period, employees can be fired without notice and are not eligible to file a grievance.

And they say we don’t do media gossip anymore.
