The Seattle Times is seeking an Assistant Sports Editor to lead the sports copy desk and direct multi-platform coverage of high-school sports. This fast-paced role calls for a calm, detail-oriented editor who is a quick thinker, communicates well and can regularly multitask while facing tight deadline pressure. Working with editors, designers and reporters, this manager will direct the team that produces the daily sports section and handles digital sports duties – such as curating the website, sending news alerts and posting stories on social media. This editor also will hire and direct freelance journalists to coordinate high-schools coverage.
