And none of it matters if Tejada, who was perfect for the season entering the game, makes a kick slightly longer than a chip shot in the fourth quarter.

And Tejada's miss doesn't matter if not for all the blown calls and non calls in Florida's favor. That reasoning cuts both ways.

Is anyone here at all suspicious of this crew, or at least a member of it, somehow being on the take? Charles Bloom, the SEC's media guy, said this is the first time a crew suspension had ever been announced publicly. That's an odd move after the the league office earlier on Monday admitted the call was bad without any further action. I wonder if some new facts have since come to their attention warranting the suspension.

I think the suspensions were announced publicly due to the fact that this same crew was involved in the Georgia-LSU fiasco. The public outcry had grown so strong that the SEC office had to do something, and had to do it publicly.

I'm guessing the league office was getting killed over this and decided to make an example of the crew.

Wasn't this also the crew involved in the screw job perpetrated on Vandy in Gainesville a few years ago?

Though I do find it interesting that the guy who called Georgia for excessive celebration a few weeks back is a Georgia Tech grad.

I know the league office doesn't allow refs to work games involving their alma mater. Perhaps they should extend that to include their alma mater's blood rivals as well.

Meanwhile, Bobby Gaston still thinks the excessive celebrations flags were good calls.

Interesting how the beneficiary in both fiascos was a team that was unbeaten and still in the title hunt at the time. That seems like a common theme in these things over the years.

Tejada's an atrocious kicker. He was 7-7 with all of his field goals except one being less than 30 yards, IIRC. He was 4-9 on field goals last season and was benched for three games. The kid shits his pants when he's got even the slightest bit of pressure on him.
