So which gets the Texas job first, Buzz Williams or Andy Enfield?

FGCU scored 15 points in the first 6:01, making 5-of-6 (83.3 percent) from the field ... 2.49 points per minute.
FGCU scored 35 points in the final 33:59, making 15-of-38 (39.5 percent) from the field ... 1.03 points per minute.

FGCU still shot a respectable 45.5 percent (20-for-44) for the game, even with its offensive slowdown.

Yale (finished with 14-17 record) also played Florida this season. Scored 58 on the Gators.

So much for the Dunk City Darlings.

Gators scored 4 points in first 6:30 ... 0.62 points per minute.
Gators scored 58 points in final 33:30 ... 1.7 points per minute.

Judging by the stats, turning point might have been Billy D's timeout 6:03 into the game (13:57 left in first half). Sometimes you don't want to take a timeout THAT early -- there was a TV timeout just 90 seconds earlier -- but whatever Billy said/adjusted worked.

And apparently Enfield didn't do, or couldn't stop, what was about to happen since his team was outscored by 23 (58-35) in the final 33:30.

    Other than being the first 15 seed to make the sweet 16, how's FGCU any different from 13th-seeded Ohio (just last year), 12th-seeded Richmond (2011), 11th-seeded VCU (2011), 9th-seeded Northern Iowa (2010), 12th-seeded Cornell (2010), 10th-seeded Saint Mary's (2010), 10th-seeded Davidson (2008) or 12th-seeded Western Kentucky (2008)?

From that list, I'd rank 'em this way in terms of "most memorable March Madness runs":

    1. VCU 2011
    2. Davidson 2008
    3. FGCU 2013

Their style of play is what makes them so memorable as opposed to some of the others. They had great characters on the court and on the sidelines, they looked like they were having fun all the time, they were ballsy enough to throw crazy alley-oops at the end of a close 15-vs-2 game. Even though they lost today to a much better team, they still went on a 15-4 run to start the game and showed a little magic before Florida wore them down. One of the best Cinderella college basketball stories of the last decade.

EDIT: George Mason 2006 and Butler 2010 would be the other two in my top 5, though I'm not sure where I'd rank them. Possibly 1-2.

Well, considering this is the SECOND year FGCU has been eligible for NCAA postseason play, it's pretty significance. The exposure they got this year, along with the rap videos by Bambi and Black Magic, the style of play, and the fact it is on a beach could possibly make them a national powerhouse within a few years.
