Yes, when the trailing team needs two possessions to get the lead, by all means spot them two points and stop the clock for them. It's one thing you foul on what is going to be the trailing team's last possession, it's quite another to create an opportunity for it to win in regulation.

If Self could count on his players to shoot 100 percent from the free throw line in that situation then Burke's shot wouldn't have even been for the tie, KU would have wrapped the game up before that.

Thankfully, I don't think I'll ever have to worry about you making decisions for any team I'm interested in.

It's just common sense, JT. You play the percentages.

It's a lot higher to win the game when you can shoot a 3-pointer than it is when you have to make a pair of free throws and hope for a Kansas miss and crazy shot to have any shot at winning.

You are the last person I'm going to let lecture me on common sense.

    Last I checked a 33-footer wasn't quite the same as a free chance ...

It's giving them a chance to shoot a shot to tie the game when you don't have to.

But you have no problem with giving them a shot to win the game when you don't have to.

Who said anything about giving them a shot? If you make two free throws you essentially win. If you miss one there's a small chance they can get a shot off from in front of half court.

Last thing I'm going to say on this, but if KU was a 100-percent free throw shooting team, Burke's 3 wouldn't even have been an issue. KU took the ball after Michigan scored and got a shot at the top of the key, but Michigan wouldn't have gotten it past half court in roughly the same amount of time?

Not if you put pressure on the ball. And again, it's about percentages. You're more likely to win if you foul. I know you hate sabermetrics and smart decisions, but still.

Resisting getting pulled in. Won't do it.

Meanwhile, dreadful offense in the first half in D.C.

Everyone's an expert the next day.
You should call ESPN and ask for air time.
