I wasn't watching when it happened and from the immediate reaction, I thought the two on the floor had had a clash of heads. I've never seen that kind of reaction to an injury. Didn't help that it was right in front of the bench.

I just hope this raised floor did not have something to do with that like making him alter his landing on the leap.

Yeah that was as bad as it gets. It looked like one of those where later you hear it could be close to having to be amputated.

Obviously, obviously, obviously you were just joking ...

That said, well, there's a reason I just don't like to say things like that.

If I was still a reporter I would look into it. It's not a natural court. If it's nothing, then it's nothing, but it would screw up all depth perception about how he should place his feet when he lands.

I've been watching the replay on awful announcing. They don't show it, but I guess a couple of kids on the bench vomited it was so bad.

    They probably heard it.

Pitino was in tears. Real tears.

Several players immediately collapsed in shared agony.

The leg was in the wrong direction for at least 5 minutes, if not more -- they stopped showing the player eventually.

The good news is appears there was no major loss of blood -- it's the severed artery as indicated by blood loss that often leads to amputation.

only prayers out to the kid... anyone else wonder if they might call for halftime interission right then and just plat 26-minute second half? ??? ???
