Yup. Unless people lose 2 or more Elite Eight teams and/or a FF/Championship team, their first day went fine.

I'll root against teams I have winning, maybe even winning a couple games, if I know, on average, it will hurt others more than me.

To beat VCU you need players who can catch the ball 15-20 feet from the basket and make a play with the space they are given. Kenny Smith broke it down perfectly.

I think Michigan has those players.

And I love having Smith and Barkley on these games. They have no dog in the college game fight and can be direct and to the point.

Agreed. During Miami's win streak, that was the best team I've seen all year. They faded a bit at the end of the regular season, but to win the regular season ACC title and the conference tournament was pretty impressive.

It just seemed that this year, probably more so than ever before, every No. 1 seed looks very, very vulnerable.

My Final Four was Miami, Kansas, Louisville and Ohio State with the Buckeyes for the title. Extraordinarily vanilla, probably a blander bracket than Jim Nantz created. Nothing happened yesterday to disturb its dull splendor.

I picked Ohio State as well to make the Final Four, but I really hope someone other than the Buckeyes or Gonzaga come out of that region...

I think one of the reasons so many people were picking VCU to go far was that Michigan was a popular upset pick.

I know we need to put New Mexico to bed, but it's worth pointing out...New Mexico is No. 2 in RPI. Has it ever been more clear that the only thing RPI is good for at this point is identifying which teams know how to game the RPI system?

Maybe. I think a better bet is that he pushed for the announcement to be made then, the day before the tournament when the entire country is talking NCAA basketball. That way his morbidly obese ego gets to be stroked as he sits at the interview table and has his AD gush about him and how he deserves this big raise and contract and how swell a guy he is.

Isn't the Mountain West just 1-3 so far in the tournament? That was the conference with the No. 1 RPI, right?

I can't remember who pointed it out during coverage last night, but New Mexico's bread-and-butter offensive play basically involved a big pushing off down low -- and unlike during the Mountain West season, the refs were calling it a foul every time. And not incorrectly.

They'd get a lot more attention and draw better athletes if they were North Carolina T&A

That was my Final Four, too.

    I am so fucked.

I know, right? I didn't think there were any other ways to do anal except from over the top.
