What the hell does that mean? They were a No. 5 seed with a bad matchup this year. That's a Sweet 16 "level of a team" right now.

Shit didn't break for them. That doesn't mean they weren't good.

So much for the St. Louis bandwagon. Oregon's running over, through and past the Billikens. Ducks up 16 early in the second half.

Every time I look up, Oregon is missing a dunk and still rolling this team. Or, uh, wait. Marquette may have missed one dunk. Having two TVs in front of me is confusing my dumb ass.

They are good, but they do not have the pure talent yet. That was obvious today.

With this coach, they could rise to a Louisville/Syracuse/Georgetown level. I don't think they have gotten too many three star recruits, ever. I would expect them to start getting three and four star recruits in the next few years. That will make a huge difference.

Why the hell did I pick Marquette to beat Butler? Should have known better. Oh well. Losses by Wisconsin and Notre Dame sunk my bracket, although I do have North Carolina beating Kansas.

I'm 28-8. I need much of everything else to fall into place to offset the Lobos-in-title-game pick.

"The pure talent"? The Rams had Larry Sanders and Eric Maynor four years ago.

They already get three- and four-star recruits. They brought in four-star Jordan Burgess last offseason. They have three three-star recruits coming in for next fall.

Pretty sure VCU is the only school in Virginia to have first-round picks in back-to-back drafts. Tough to believe with as good as Virginia was all those years ago. Maynor went 20th, Sanders 15th. VCU's improved talent has helped it to where it was a 5 seed this year. People now expect VCU to win in this tournament.

League situation will be a factor. The A10 was an upgrade this year, by a shit ton. As it disintergrates, it may not and that could affect recruiting. "Hey we play Duquesne and St. Bonnie and Fordham every year" may not be enough.

Curious, too, to see if Smart is long-term.

When Brey took over, Notre Dame hadn't been to the tournament in 11 years, Since 1987 they've made the second weekend once. And he's been higher than a five just once in nine trips. That's not even close to the expectations for Georgetown.

Put it this way -- You want to question Brey keeping his job and he's the second most successful coach in school history in the NCAA era, third best overall.

I remember a certain Jim O'Connell loudly insisting on the Tony Kornheiser Show that Oregon was a terrible team that played terrible basketball. Maybe they don't get the Pac-12 Network out east, but I know what I saw and that's a damn good team. Glad I sprung for them reaching the 16s.

WuShock U seems to be beating up Gonzaga. The Big Conference Schadenfreude should the Zags fall would even outdo that which followed New Mexico's flameout.

    Yes.

And I'm loving this "extra mustard" stuff. The coolest alumni one was, well, cool. This is fun, too
