Doug Gottlieb is making this game unwatchable.

Gonzaga out -- and next Saturday, you'll have a 9, 12 or 13 seed playing to go to the Final Four.

And both of those guys did their damage under Grant, and neither were rated very high coming out of high school, right?

If they can keep him, the sky is the limit. But if UCLA opens up...

Not sure if that should go on this thread or not, but Howland is out: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/ncaab--sources--ben-howland-out-at-ucla-013325438.html.

Some might think UCLA would never go for a run-and-gun-style pressing coach because of Wooden's "emphasis on fundamentals," but remember a few things: the trademark of UCLA under Wooden (especially in the interludes between HOF centers) was the fullcourt zone press, and under Wooden, UCLA was always one of the top scoring teams in the country. Wooden never played stall-ball.

Hell, Westhead made the uptempo style work for a few years at Loyola Marymount, and he wasn't doing it with top-20 recruits (Gathers and Kimble were, yeah, but UCLA gets guys like that every year).

But yeah, this should probably go on a "2013 BKC offseason thread."

And that despite Wichita State receiving a rare pounding on the glass. Creighton has a lot to live up to tomorrow.

My Midwest, South and East are all relatively intact. The West? An utter bloodbath that is Ohio State's to lose.

I'm watching my first college basketball of the season, and was surprised at how good I thought Gottlieb was after everything I read here.

    Ah, shitfuck.

But what the hell ... Wichita literally had its game of the year shooting 3s, and made their last 7 attempts. Hope the Shockers keep shooting like that the rest of the way.

And their center was a beast in the middle, swatting away anything Harris threw up there.

Olynyk had a great tournament and Pangos played pretty well tonight, but as a team, Gonzaga got outplayed in both NCAA games.

Time for a night of angry drinking in Spokane ...
