Shaka Smart had a look about him yesterday that makes me think he'll now ponder offers.

    what? What kind of "look?"

He's pondered offers every year. He just hasn't taken one. He's making 1.3 million at VCU and doesn't have to spend any of it on clothes!

He was over there on the sideline falling further and further behind an established "name" program.
I can't read folks' minds but he was emotionally spent, from my guess, at having hit a dead end.
Listen, I want coaches to stay put for long stretches but it just never seems to happen.

Also, how do we know what it was in that glass Marshall Henderson was drinking from.
Our status as an industry (journalism) sucks at times. This electronic/internet side of the journo world is suckiest of all.

OK, let's turn this discussion to something far loftier:

Hotter -- FGCU coach's wife or the woman in the Bud Light blind date commercial?

That coach also supposedly got 9-figures when he got rid of his start-up software company.
He's done well. His wife looks awesome, for sure. I'm not familiar with the Bud Lite girl.

So Iowa State's end game strategy was to let Ohio State get whatever shot it wanted?

And Bud Light. No question. Dude is cool but is playing way out of his league

How many coaches have been to three Final Fours in the past 10 years?

Howland, Kryzewski, Calipari, Bill Self, Rick Pitino, Thad Motta, Roy Williams. Anyone else?

I don't really buy the idea that Howland (or anyone else) got stupid overnight.

He had a look like, "Wow, I'm getting my ass kicked here in a major way and I am powerless to stop it." Because Michigan was a better team, much better, yesterday. Not because Michigan is a bigger program.

Smart beat Purdue and Kansas pretty thoroughly two years ago.

He may go, he may not. It won't be because he got lit up yesterday like a firecracker. It will be because someone tossed a Brinks truck in his lap and he's comfortable with the school that does it.

He makes a pile of money, he is the undisputed King of Richmond and it is going to take a massive offer to get him to leave. I know the one-and-done nature of the CAA final last year bothered him and the school responded by finding a new league home. Now, as I noted above, that new league is going to take on a new look.

Guerrero's problem is that UCLA can't find a successor to Sam Gilbert.
