Heyward takes a little off that bank shot and you might be right, but USA Hockey is tough to unseat.

When high school teams play that way, every white person within five area codes acts like it's a social crisis.

I don't know... Butler has been good for so long that it didn't seem as truly shocking as it was for the other teams mentioned. In 2010, they were a No. 5 seed. It's not unheard of for No. 5 seeds to make the title game... I think in 2011, Butler was overshadowed a bit by VCU, which went from the play-in game to the Final Four.

    FGCU's not really a mid-major, is it?

I meant what year were you talking about in the original question. The second run to the title would make no sense since you're talking about a team that was in the title game the year before. FGCU is in the tournament for the first time ever. And if you were talking about Butler's first run to the title, they were a 5 seed that year and were a known commodity in college basketball before that. Also, that team had a lottery pick on it.

In other words, I don't see where the comparison is between the two.

More like a low-major. Atlantic Sun is a one-bid league and if it hadn't been for Belmont bolting, Florida Gulf Coast is sitting at home this season.

That's really a good point... The Atlantic Sun has got to be one of the smallest conferences that qualifies for the NCAA Tournament.

Butler was a trendy Final Four pick in 2010. It was in a bracket with a bunch of teams with better seeds than usual (Pitt, K-State, Vandy...). They entered the tournament ranked No. 8 in the country. The Syracuse win was probably the most surprising win of the tournament and while they beat Michigan State in the Final Four, that MSU team was a No. 5 seed.

Still an amazing run, it would have been so awesome if they had beaten Duke, and they got so close...

Fair or not, when you make the title game the year before, it's not as stunning when they're back there the next year, even though the 2011 run was far more improbable as it was in 2010. Also, they were overshadowed by VCU, which nobody on the planet thought would make the Final Four because VCU was the team that everybody was bitching about even making the tournament in the first place.

The 1990 Loyola Marymount Lions think you should all go fuck yourselves. Their best player just died on the court. That's all.

Yeah, that's a good call. That win over Michigan was an all-timer...
