Cleveland State as a 14 in '86 made the Sweet 16 where they lost by a point to David Robinson and Navy. That was pretty shocking.

What, you didn't like the Danny and the Miracles run in 1988? :D

I think making the Elite Eight with 50 percent of your one-two combo laying in a casket will always be top three. They advanced on sheer will from the first round on. And I rememebr it felt like the entire country was pulling for them.

Bo Kimble's left-handed free throws still cause me to sniffle. Except for anything Kansas related, those free throws are my favorite NCAA Tournament memories.

You're the defending National Champions, and you give up 149. Ye Gods.

I'll take the Midwest barely over the South. I'd say Louisville is the team playing better than anyone at this point. I'd take them over Kansas, even though Kansas is probably the most complete team in field. I'd take Michigan State over Florida. I think Florida will beat FGCU but I don't trust a team like them that relies so much on the outside shot and could see them losing that game. Oregon was badly underseeded. Duke and Michigan is a toss-up.

I think Wichita State has a damn good chance at making the Final Four.

Be careful out on that limb there, Mizzou. A team in the weakest region that's playing a higher seed in the Sweet 16 has a good chance to win that game and then one more and make the Final Four? Get out of here!

Well, at this point the only really bold prediction would be to pick La Salle or FGCU to advance.

I don't even think La Salle would be a bold pick; not in that region.

Everything is as it should be: I get to root vehemently against Tom Izzo.

That should be the best matchup by far of the Sweet 16.
