He needs to develop, but will he with another year at IU? There doesn't seem to have been much of a development of his game from the beginning of his freshman year through the end of this season.

    That's what Dick Whitman said.

There may be a group with bigger egos (Wall Street, D.C., pro athletes) than D1 college football and basketball coaches, but I doubt it. They truly think they are doing God's work and making sacrifices by taking the 10 year contracts.

What a bunch of fucking pricks.

What could he possibly learn from this coaching staff, which does not teach?

He should leave. Some smart team will hire a Ewing type to tutor him.

    He's got short arms.

    You can't unteach that.

GMs are getting smarter. If he goes in the first round, the GM should hand in his resignation that evening.

Let me clarify that. He should leave either way. What I have my doubts about: Whether he is going to stay that high in the draft.

What was your impression of the fan base's expectations/reaction to last night? It seemed to me that this squad was pretty polarizing - and that Crean in particular is polarizing. After the Temple game, it seemed like the civil war really reached a head, with guys like us raising the concerns we've raised all along, and others shouting down such dissent: "They won a tough game. Can't you be happy???!!!?"

I always thought his brother, who seemed go unnoticed at UNC, was underrated and the better player. Not the next Larry Bird, but why everyone went nuts over the IU kid still puzzles me.

Plus, with everything I've seen and heard, this is supposed to be one of the weakest drafts in years. But the 2014 draft is supposed to be stacked.

If a kid has any chance for an NBA future now, get the hell into the draft. I mean, for gawd's sake, Ben McLemore is still projected anywhere from 1-3, and he has been crap for six games in a row.

They looked unprepared and surprised in the Temple game.

They looked unprepared and surprised in the Syracuse game.

This is a trend. There is a large segment of the fanbase that assigns a specialness to Crean as a coach. I think he's been a nice leader and a very good recruiter. But he will never win the chess match.

The fanbase was very much divided between people who won't hear any criticism of Crean, and those who feel he just wasted a boatload of talent. I'm part of the ever-growing group that is resigned, because Crean is entrenched.

Judging by the past 20 years, Crean is now presidential material.

In general, you are way better off winning the recruiting battles than the chess match.

    Just sayin'.
