I'm gonna guess that UCLA lost their one seed, and Kansas is, despite being projected as a one sedd, still very much underestimate by everyone.

UCLA is No. 1 in the RPI and is 11-1 against the RPI top 50. The Bruins are a lock for a 1 seed.

Attention span, folks. The season didn't start this week.

Looks like one at-large bid is gone.

Nevada is about to lose in the WAC semis to Utah State.
That means it'll be USU, Boise State or New Mexico State with the auto bid.

    There went App. State's bid.

Appy was done already. Today is Hiroshima for a lot of bubble teams. Nevada and Xavier lost, so now they're taking up at-large bids. Oklahoma State, Arkansas and Mississippi State won, bolstering their chances. Purdue's stronger. Illinois was probably in anyway, but if they beat Indiana they're definitely in.

I'm thinking Nevada and Xavier are in for Drexel and Missouri State. If Oklahoma State or Arkansas win again, bye-bye ODU. Air Force has trouble now, and so does Stanford. And God above help us if N.C. State or Wake Forest do something supremely wacky.

Yeah, but few No. 1 seeds enter the tournament on two-game losing streaks. And it's not like the Bruins played well in the game before they lost to the seventh- and eighth-best teams in the Pac-10. There should be some debate about the Bruins as a No. 1.

Can you think of four teams better suited to a 1 seed? Florida and UNC struggled down the stretch, even if they're doing better in their conference tournaments. Ohio State and Wisconsin are fine for now, but at least one of them is going to end the regular season with a loss. Whatever slim chance Texas A&M had is gone now. Memphis might slide into that spot at this rate.

My projected 1 seeds as of now: Kansas, Ohio State, Florida, UCLA.

Someone should sell me on Xavier getting an at-large. They're still in the A-10 in 2007, not 1995. It's a really weak league now, below the CAA for sure. Sell me on them.

Their case -- 24 wins, victories over Villanova, VCU, Illinois and Kansas State, nine straight wins before the loss to Rhode Island and an RPI in the mid 20's (25 at Sportsline, 27 at ESPN).

Working against them -- some of those losses aren't good ones. Who knew losing to Cincinnati could qualify as a bad loss?

    Xavier:
    24-8; RPI 27, 3-2 vs top 50; 8-3 vs 51-100; Non-Conf. SOS 47
    Beat Nova

    Texas:
    23-8; RPI 29; 4-5 vs Top 50; 5-3 vs. 51-100; Non-Conf SOS 180
    Lost to Nova

    I rest my case.
