You would have had my sympathy, had Syracuse simply lost to KU in the finals four years ago. But it didn't. At least your team is getting bounced in the first round following a national championship season. Damn you, Gerry McNamara.

Lunardi just talked about Drexel and Old Dominion being in - and Jay Bilas ripped that argument a convincing new asshole.
Mid-major love is a good thing but separate the leagues the bubble teams play in and judge them on what they've done.

Yeah, because mid-majors could win at Syracuse, Villanova, Georgetown, etc. and still be left out of the tournament. Meanwhile, a team like Kentucky beats a down Louisville early and a less-than-healthy Tennessee as its marquee wins this season, and no one says a word about them because the Wildcats are obviously a lock.

Yeah, the mid-majors are getting way too much love.

Who said they were getting too much love? I said mid-major love is a good thing. Bilas offered up another argument.

I've come to terms with Missouri State not being in now that some one team conferences have had some upsets. I'm slightly upset about this, as I believe the Missouri Valley really was one of the best conferences this year and the big conferences will get teams with worse records than Missouri State in while they'll be in the NIT again.

I know they're out though. Which sucks, by the way.

I think the bubble team that is least deserving to go as another poster suggested earlier is Illinois.

Top Wins -- Indiana (2), Michigan State, Bradley (on the road)

They've played a horrible non-conference schedule and have some horrendous performances...64-47 loss to Purdue...51-49 win against a mediocre Miami (OH) team...10 point loss to Michigan.

The Big 10 has been horrible all year and doesn't deserve more bids than the Pac 10, which will happen if Illinois gets in over Stanford. They should get Ohio St, Wisconsin, Michigan St and Purdue. Indiana will sneak in because of 10 conference wins, but their only major win was over the Badgers.

Compare Illinois' resume to Drexel who has won 13 games on the road and has victories on the road against Syracuse, Villanova and Creighton.

Florida St has also beaten Florida, Duke, Virginia Tech and Maryland (by 17).

In order of rank the bubble teams should go Florida State, Drexel, Stanford, Air Force and Illinois, with the first three getting in.

The Maryland win is impressive, but Duke is surviving on reputation this year, not talent.

Michigan State finished in 7th in the Big 10 this year, right?

Yes, tied with Michigan at 8-8.

8-8 in that shitty conference should not be good enough. I like the Spartans, and when they're on they're much better than they played. But nope, not good enough this year.

Agreed, but they will be. And that's unfortunate for the West Virginias, ODUs and Missouri States of the world.

I don't think Missouri State deserves to be in. Winless in five games against Creighton and Southern Illinois. And then there was the Bracket Buster loss to Winthrop. They've played six games since Christmas against teams that are going to be in the tournament and won exactly zero of them.
