Despite my criticism, I like her and the show. She does seem to try to address most of the details from a variety of angles, and she seems pretty open about her lack of expertise.

So Slate's Serial Spoiler, is that what I should download? I don't see any other Slate podcast about the show.
If I'm getting ready to listen to episode 6 of the show, should I listen to the Slate spoiler before or after?

Yes, that's the Slate podcast. Listen to it after the actual Serial podcast.

The Slate podcast was interesting, but I only downloaded that one episode, and I blew through the rest of the Slate episodes now that I'm a commuter.
I found the innocence-project lawyer (and her students) and the former cop to be influential, especially the cop. for him to say the investigation was well done but the case was still thin - that carried a lot of weight.

but another of his points struck me - validation bias - not as it applies to the initial investigation but as it applies to the host. She clearly wants Adnan to be not guilty, and she seems as willing to discount elements that don't fit her vision of the case as the investigating officers were.

    Still, incredibly interesting.

Now that I'm through with the 10 episodes, I'll go back and catch all of the Slate companion pieces.

@BestBuy We deeply apologize for our earlier tweet about Serial. It lacked good judgment and doesn't reflect the values of our company. We are sorry.

What would there be to apologize for?

I suppose it could be considered insensitive to Hae's family. A girl died after all. But I thought it was great and I wish they had just stuck with it.

    Agreed.

Next week is the last episode. I thought that today's episode was ok, but nothing great.

I find the criticisms of SK as assuming Adnan's innocence interesting. She has said multiple times that she doesn't have strong belief of that or of his guilt. Now, you may not believe her, but the whole premise of the show is that this is an odd case with a lot of questions that may or may not have been answered during the investigation and trial(s). She's trying to do her own investigation and answer as many of the questions as she can.

If, at the end, she proves his innocence or his guilt, she'd probably be thrilled. My guess is we're no clearer on that when it's over (I haven't listened to the Dec. 11 episode yet).
