F'ing pancakes. That was a classic mistakes of going with what I like (french toast) vs. what I think everyone is going to say.

The difference between 1st and 4th place.

I reckon more people have teeth removed than appendixes.

    Teeth, people. Teeth.

For the millionth time, it doesn't matter which answer is RIGHT.

If the question is "What color is the sky," and 30 people answer "red" while 20 answer "blue," the ones who answered red will win.

10 is a nice, perfect number.

Seven and nine are both odd numbers. . . people tend to shy away from choosing odd numbers.

8 is probably the correct number, but since 10 is both even and divisible by 5, it drew the responses. . . even though kids would be in fourth grade by then.

Santa was debunked thoroughly by first grade at my school. Believing in him was enough to get you mocked and possibly beat up. I went to elementary school in a poor area of a major city, though.

    That's how you win. Fundamentals.

Like the last place guy (for now) needs to offer advice or suggestions, but I went with 7 on Santa for a simple reason: my experiences and my kids' experiences. You go to elementary school believing and you try to hold on to it for bit. But by 7 and the second grade, you realize it is a ruse.

Not sure I know of a kid older than 8 who still believes.

But as the scores show, what the hell do I know? The one answer I thought would be my worst turned out to be my best.

Where's the fucking light switch down here in the cellar, by the way?

I think kids believe in Santa longer than they did 30+ years ago when most of us were growing up. I think movies like Polar Express and Rise of the Guardians have helped this a bit. My sister's kids are 10 and 9 and they've made no mention of not believing. We also have neighbors with very sharp kids who are 10 and 8 and the parents are very pleasantly surprised that their kids either still believe or are scared to admit that they don't or play along in a way where their parents are fooled.

They didn't mention not believing because they probably get that it's not about believing. Children are more cynical than ever.
