It heartens me to no end to see the Dems taking off the gloves against these punks.

  2. Then she should quit and work for another organization that is more in synch with her beliefs.

  3. Thank heavens for small favors.

I'm not saying government doesn't have a role in scientific research, but it's not necessary, either. Unlike apparently it is in your native land, where nobody can even put out a TV show or write a book without getting some sort of government check (or is that cheque?) in advance.

Really, considering some of the dreck that comes out of Canadian TV studios ("DaVinci's Inquest," anyone?), you should be getting more bang for your loonie.

I believe the "pro-abortion" crowd prefers to be called "pro-choice" because they aren't insisting that all women abort their fetuses. Correct me if I am wrong, though.

The Virus Research Lab at the University of Pittsburgh, where Dr. Jonas Salk did his work, was and still is, publicly funded.
The problem with stem cell research, as previously noted, is that if you work in a lab that has received federal funds to pay for equipment, you cannot perform stem cell research on that equipment. You have to have a different lab paid for entirely by private funds or corporate donations.

There are also many of people who find abortion to be repugnant, but feel that it's a personal decision to be made by a woman and her doctor. The government has no business being involved in people's medical decisions.

I know I personally would never have one barring a major birth defect or some sort of massive health danger for me, but I that's a choice I've made (or would be willing to make). It's not for me to decide what others should do.

Considering many of the people who have posted on this thread are also evidently off their meds, should we be lining up TV commercials for them to appear in?

Even if he hadn't taken out citizenship, he should still be allowed to chime in. He pays taxes there.

And, hey, it's not like Americans have never stuck their noses in other countries' political affairs before. It only happens every goddamned day.

People should see that disease in all its fiery grandeur.

  9. I posted a link a while back in which a Parkinson's specialist explained that being ON his meds was why MJF was bouncing around so much in the spot.

Speaking of "pro-choice," I suspect that most of those in the "pro-choice" camp would just as soon the woman make one choice in particular.

No, we'd just prefer to NOT see a return to hanger abortions, women beating themselves with unabridged dictionaries and other forms of illegal abortions.

Not to mention that I don't need the government making my medical decisions for me. My body, my decision.

Do you really think that? Seriously? Or are you just stirring the pot?
