Sadly, the USA is not one of those enlightened countries. Hence the endless, pointless polarizing arguments over "moral values."

So girls, Hondo has spoken. Get in line. And procreate.

And Hondo, you can believe life begins at conception if you want. Doesn't change the debate about whether women should have control of their bodies.

You're the proponent of the Iraq War.

    Well played. :D

  5. When you look up "arrogant" in the dictionary, this post from JR appears there. Nice work.

Funny how the culture that doesn't need government intervention (or idiotic government posts like "culture minister") seems to be the one most people around the world can't get enough of, isn't it?

Funny how the culture that most people around the world can't get enough of is the one so many conservatives can't stand: Madonna, 50 Cent, Pussycat Dolls, Snoop Dogg, The Simpsons (man, that father is stupid!), the entire output of godless Hollywood (except that nice Mel Gibson fellow, of course) with its smut, gore and general filth.

As a conservative, are you really proud of what our culture is exporting, or are you just shooting your mouth off and making knee-jerk statements that make no sense?

  7. Speaking of knee-jerk statements that make no sense ...

Thanks, Boomer, for operating a brain without a license.

Lyman, you do realize that thousands upon thousands of "culture projects" are funded each year by the US government, right? Maybe you've heard of this National Endowment for the Arts agency? It's only been around since the 1960s.

Damn, do you try to make it this easy?

    Score one for evolution. :D

Seriously, the last time I had checked in on this thread was before work today. And now I see that it's gone from Parkinson's to pregnancies and the arts? Quite a turn.

    Ummmmm ... life imitates art?

    Sorry, that's all I got.

  11. Indeed, I have heard of it dog -- surprise!

How much money do most Hollywood studios receive from the NEA? How about TV networks? Most radio stations? Any idea?

No, the NEA is too busy giving money to people who put crucifixes in a Mason jar full of urine.

So, now you're gonna define "culture" for us?

    This should be fun.
