    Almost all of us did not "choose to live here." At most, those of us born here simply "haven't gone to the immense trouble of moving to another country."

    I don't get it, is this a joke? White people don't go to black neighborhoods. Black people keep guns to defend themselves from young black males.

    So if the 2nd amendement is repealed, people will still be able to legally buy guns?

    Yes. Read the thing. It ain't that complicated.

    The Amendment doesn't make guns legal. Instead it prevents laws from being enacted making them illegal. If it's repealed, guns remain legal unless and until new laws are passed banning them.

    What would be the point of repealing it, other than to then pass laws to ban them.

    You might go back and read Whitman's earlier posts. The repeal and replace argument is his baby, and I'm not feeling like carrying his water right now.

    I was only pointing out something that struck me as a basic misunderstanding of how the Bill of Rights works.
