    I don't believe this for a second.
You get to your room, dick around for 2 hours, sleep for 8 hours, take 2 hours to get dressed and wake up... and someone is going to check on your wellness?

    Complete fucking bullshit.

Since when are hotel staffers coming by every few hours, instead of once per day?

Lombardo said security guard Jesus Campos was in a hallway of the hotel responding to a report of an open door when he heard drilling from Paddock's room. Paddock, who had installed three cameras to monitor the approach to his suite, opened fire through the door, spraying 200 shots down the hall and wounding the guard, who alerted other security officials.

A few minutes later, Paddock began raining down bullets for 10 minutes in an attack that killed 58 people -- the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

Authorities also said that Paddock targeted aviation fuel tanks, stocked his car with explosives and had personal protection gear as part of an escape plan.

Las Vegas shooter believed to have used hotel's freight elevator before attack

OK, how about this: Paddock had a car full of explosives, so maybe he intended to pour gunfire for just a couple of minutes, then get down to his car quickly, drive it into the crowd, blow the explosives and kill hundreds more. ... But then the security guard shows up before he could get started, and once Paddock dumps 200 bullets down a hallway, he knows the gig is up for his escape plan, so he goes to Plan B: Shoot everyone he can, then off himself. He would have had a suicide mission in the car anyway, so kill kill kill as much as possible, then pull the plug. Because God forbid he should have to be held accountable for his madness, etc., etc.

I'm not trying to argue with you, and 12 hours seems fairly aggressive.

If he had said 24 or 36 hours, I would have seen his point.

I'm just relating what he said. He was definitely trying to say that this would not have happened at one of his properties. And, he was trying to say that he saw the potential problem, looked into it, and made changes, that others haven't made.

Fuck. Give me a second, and I'll look for a link.

It was interesting. That's my whole point.

Here it is, from FOX News Sunday:

See, that's the thing: Wynn has all the exits heavily covered from the start.
Hard to mount an escape plan from that. Does Mandalay Bay do the same?

Great interview, by the way. Steve Wynn seems really sharp.

Not doubting you. But Wynn is FOS on that 12 hours thing.

Checking on hotel guests who have the do not disturb sign out for 12 hours - not plausible in any way shape or form: that's okay

Calling a weapon shooting bullets that approximates automatic machine gun fire at 95 percent, but isn't technically an automatic weapon: the epitome of unprofessionalism.

    Just listened to it again.

He does mention 12 hours, but not necessarily as a set policy.

Like I said, I thought it was interesting.

Was his goal simply to reassure his own guests?

It was really the service elevator comment that stood out to me, even at the time, because it was unprompted, and turns out to be relevant.

    High-roller, right? Big spender?

    Could see it

Wynn talks about this in the FOX interview.

He's been in all the Vegas casinos' programs for years.

Calls him a vanilla guy, who was not a high roller by their definition.
