Honestly ... why would anyone think there would be? Everybody (figuratively) working in a big Vegas casino/hotel has worked in one or more of the others.

Shrug. It's not like I've been there to have an opinion.

I would think that it would be a question of whether management at the corporate level chose to make it a priority and spend money on it. Post LV massacre I'm sure that some of those decisions are being re-examined as well. Improved security would be good public relations as long as people are not forced to take their shoes off.

No one wants to be the hotel hosting the guy who breaks Stephen Paddock's record.

Question I still have: This was a major country music concert. I am perplexed why we haven't seen footage of the shooting at the concert better than a couple of grainy youtubes. There has to be real film footage out there - some professionals filming the concert - out there, correct?

Likely seized by the FBI as evidence.

So the NRA played a PR game that fooled quite a few people, including some on this board, but really won't give an inch. I wonder if the posters here who argued otherwise will be honest enough to admit they were wrong about this.

It's initial post was very carefully worded, and it came out pretty quickly against Congressional involvement, while pivoting to reciprocity for concealed and/or open carry laws.

I believe my initial response to YF's post breaking the NRA's position here was, "Fuck the NRA."

I saw a post elsewhere last week, by a guy who said he's worked around jet fuel for years, and he said the jet fuel tanks were in no danger of exploding or being set afire with Paddock's gunshots. Anyone here know this stuff?

I read somewhere, don't recall where, that jet fuel is
From a story in the LVRJ:
A source knowledgeable about airport operations said jet fuel is hard to ignite and tanks like those across from Mandalay Bay have mechanisms in place to prevent fires.

Mike Boyd, a Colorado-based aviation consultant, echoed those words.

“A machine gun is not going to blow up a tank of fuel,” Boyd said. “Jet fuel itself sitting there in a big wet pile is very hard to ignite. You have to be a very amateur terrorist to think anything like that.”
