Had a couple good friends over on Saturday night who are gun enthusiasts. Got to hold a gun for the first time ever. A Smith & Wesson handgun of some sort. It was heavy, really solid. Both guys want to take me shooting one day soon and I’ll probably take them up on it.

Until then you’d never held any sort of firearm? No skeet- or target-shooting at camp?

I’ve never held a handgun ... but, hell, my kids shot skeet on church retreats. Episcopalian church retreats!

I've been listening to Radiolab's More Perfect episode "The Gun Show" about the 2nd amendment and it's legal history. Really really interesting stuff.
