Paddock reportedly hid a camera in a room service cart outside his room - I guess so he could see when SWAT was approaching.

You all can parse the words however you want, but any weapon that is capable of injuring 500 plus people in the course of a few moments has no business or need being in the hands of the general public.

Was it a camera? Or a video camera? Words matter!

Among the many things I'm wondering ... he had quite an arsenal of large weapons in his hotel room. I know he had several days to bring them up there, but wouldn't someone notice between Thursday and Sunday? Or are those things easily broken down so they can be hidden in backpacks, suitcases, etc.

Yes, they are quite easy to disassemble and will fit in a regular sized suitcase or even a backpack. Once he gets to the suite, he hangs the "Privacy please" sign on the door and starts reassembling them and setting up.

I haven't been on social media too much lately, but does the NRA right seem less dug in than usual?

I'm vaguely aware of the calls not to politicize the tragedy, but the fact that the bullets came from above like they did seems to have subdued the usual bravado about how a "good guy with a gun" could have changed things. (Even after Sandy Hook this became a rallying point and derailed any discussions about sensible gun control.)

And maybe it's because it was at a country music concert likely populated by mostly conservatives or people conservatives can sympathize with.

The NRA itself has gone silent. But at the first inching toward a gun control discussion, they will unleash their stacks of cash to sway the public and elected officials.
