The scary thing about asking right-wing conservative Christian culture for biblical answers is that they sometimes have them at the ready and their version of what the Bible means is scarier than them just wanting to own guns.

The military has a horrendous record of forwarding its legal decisions to civilians because CYA is an abiding military truth. Also civilian truth, of course, but local/state authorities have almost no recourse against the military.

Every day. But then, I'm not an alleged Christian. I'm a Christian. I also think guns, and the need for them, should disappear from the world.

No one who would commit acts such as these truly is a Christian. It doesn't matter what they call themselves, or what church they attended. Being a Christian gets to be reflected in a person's life. There should be indications of it in any active Christian's life, and oftentimes, it has little to do with a person's church, or even whether they go to one at all. Certainly, church can be part of the picture -- oftentimes, it is -- but attendance is hardly a given, or a necessity.

There were several other charges that were dropped as well. If you’re in the Air Force, you’ll want to get that JAG’s number.

What kind of recourse do the victims in Texas have against the Air Force for not putting that info into the system that would have prevented his firearm purchases? Or are there laws that will prevent them from filing suit against the USG?

Fuck him. Half the victims of this dirtbag were children. I seldom have any sympathy for these shooters, no matter how fucked up they were, but this guy deserves his own especially hot griddle in hell.
