Moddy, we'll heed JD's comments. If your kids need to talk about it, I know you will listen to them. I have no clue what it's like to be a parent or a kid directly or indirectly involved with today's situation. We got your back, buddy. Go talk to your kids now. Headbutt et al will keep an eye on the boards.

This is the wrong place for this debate. I think we can all agree that it would be nice if we could live in a world where people worked together to figure out how to stop this crap from happening.

32 dead kids is enough, thank you very much.

I didn't mean to make it sound like a .22 is "safe" or that it can't kill. Clearly they can be as deadly as any other gun.

The first person I thought of was a sister of a college friend who I talked to online last night, the first time we'd talked in forever, and she was telling me how her sis was all excited about grad school. And the Moddys also came to mind. Glad to hear the offspring aren't physically harmed.

I have started a thread for the guns debate. It's on Anything Goes. I'd appreciate it if, out of respect for Moddy, his family and friends and the others directly affected by this shooting, we could carry that fight over there.

    Thanks.

Prayers for you, Moddy, your children, their friends, and all touched by this horrific tragedy -- parents, victims, students, everyone.

Dear Moddy: Please tell your children they have plenty of people rooting for them and their friiends.

Just heard that a particular video game was used as a training device for this, as was the case in Columbine and Paducah.

Can we now declare that video games are as much of a problem as guns? That they invite kids to use the real thing?

BTW, here is the best online update:

And with that, I'll move my thoughts. I didn't see the request.
