Who says the manifesto wasn't written before hand? And the package wasn't ready to send days in advanced?

If this has been reported, I missed it.

EDIT: Nevermind. Just saw the report.

That would explain why the kid was awake at 5:30 when the roommate came back from cramming at the library.

  5. Amen, QB.

I do think Tech should have canceled classes like they did after the shooting this fall--a murder's a murder, after all, and a rare thing on campus--but expecting them to issue a lockdown that is, at best, logistically unfeasible after what appeared to be an isiolated incident is unrealistic.

As for the Falwell comment... let me say that the first preacher who gets up and says this is God punishing the "secular and hedonistic ways and lifestyle of a college campus" gets a kidney punch. Then dies of syphillis. After 20 big bull convicts run a train on him.

At this point, can VT even finish the semester? Finals were supposed to start next week, I believe.

Do they just cancel the semester? Give everybody passing grades? Try to do finals in a couple of weeks?

Give everyone a 3.2 (for historical siginifcance) and we'll see you in the fall. I just dont see how anyone on that campus is gonna be able to focus so soon after this crap.

  11. Can you give people due to graduate an automatic pass? Just askin, I'm not sure.

I'm sure. I've seen some profs waive finals for those graduating.
This would be a situation where the school should probably just not offer finals, or something else. At least make them optional, at best.

If a prof's grading system is dependent on the final - take the average the student has at current and factor that in as the final exam grade.

Way too much for these students to go through to take big exams in the next 2 weeks.
