I find the reactions to this stunning piece of journalism odd.

What it made me feel was utter rage and a desire to do something... to act in some way.

It does NOT make me say, "Fucking TV."

When are we going to stop blaming television for everything, seeing everything as it relates to television, and look in the mirror?

Just moved: the second gun in the VT shootings was purchased off the Internet.

    Let's shut down the Internet.

And seriously people, the Internet has opened a plethora of unchecked behaviors....a way to get a corrupt message out, a way to steal your money, a way to buy guns without much of a background check.

Is that addendum SERIOUS enough for you? You want to deny what crap the Internet has opened more doors to?

Try not to be so hysteric every time you see the name "Yawn" and overreact emotionally.

How about the fact that your little internet bit may in fact not be true?

Do you have a link to your "just in" report? Because it conflicts with everything I have seen about where the guns were purchased.

They're reporting it right now on cable news. Quoting AP. If you're a journalist at work, you should find it easily.

    Sure, Yawn.

    "Shut down the internet."

That's a reasonable idea. I don't know why no one has thought of it before.

I bet Hannity would love such a hot news tip. Give him a call. Keep calling until he puts you on the air.

    It's your duty.

So what's the difference between shutting down the internet which accelerates crime or guns which accelerate crime?

    Reporting is top notch.
And in respect to the writing: I sent the link to a friend via IM and told him, "You know how good moves force you to put yourself in the shoes of the characters? This story does that."

Once, in an English class, the teacher had the students read aloud and, when it was Cho’s turn, he just looked down in silence, Davids recalled in an interview with The Associated Press. Finally, after the teacher threatened to give him a failing grade for participation, Cho started to read in a strange, deep voice that sounded “like he had something in his mouth,” Davids said.

“As soon as he started reading, the whole class started laughing and pointing and saying, ‘Go back to China,’” Davids said.

Sometimes, just getting pissed and punching somebody is the best therapy. That's what I thought when I read this. This guy, apparently, internalized everything to the point where he just hated everybody. If he just would have hauled off and nailed the guy who was making fun of him, who knows...

And don't get me wrong, I'm not making excuses for him. Lots of people deal with all sorts of crap in high school that's 100 times worse and get over it. But there's .00000000000000000001 percent that end up going violently nuts.
