Maybe in a few years this will be OK, but I'd still change it.

Reminds me of Billy Packer saying a tired player was 'fagged out.'

Technically correct, but wrong in every other way.

As the guy who tired to get the phrase "down the cock" into the paper regarding a fastball (no, I didn't get the possible meaning), I vote thumbs-down on this one.

We had a guy try to use Money Shot as a headline. I damn near split my gut open laughing at him.

I predict that this thread will not have a happy ending.

Right. And Tiger Woods saying he was a "spaz" on the greens a couple of years ago at the Masters.

Or the Washington politician Dave Howard who was forced to resign after using the word niggardly to discribe the need to keep a tight budget.

If "shot his wad" was used in a blog entry at your newspaper, would it be edited out or changed?

Or would it be considered 'edgy' and part of the blogosphere? (BLOGS!)

I would have definitely changed it to "blew his wad."

I'm sort of thinking it might... something similar to its beginning.

Yikes. Easy fix. Terry Francona had already expended his supply of available arms ...

Makes you wonder what's on Jackie Mac's mind
