Should 9/11 be a national day of volunteerism, charity and good deeds?

FWIW, the Web site is trying to get individuals to spend 9/11 doing good deeds, not make it a mandatory holiday for that purpose.

Sounds like church, where people spend 6 and 1/2 days stomping all over the 10 Commandments, then going to church on Sunday.

Exactly... I was told there was a movement in the early 60s to make Nov. 22 a national holiday after the JFK assassination...

That's what we do on Washington's birthday already.

I'm waiting for the first Sept. 11 sales.

We already have MLK Day sales.

Will the Sept. 11 sales be everything marked down to $9.11 or the large ticket items selling for $911?

How would you advertise Sept. 11 sales?

Our discounts tower over the competition, but only for a limited time!

The same way I spent D-Day, VJ-Day, and that I'll be spending 9/11 -- working.

If you force somebody to volunteer, is it still volunteering?

    No, it's "community service."
