I notice Son Volt getting some mentions lately. I limited all my posts to songs I could find decent videos of on YouTube, and I couldn't find much from Trace, one of the greatest albums of all time. A couple songs that I really like off that album that get lost amid the love for Windfall and such are Too Early, Mystify Me and Ten Second News, which is especially haunting when they reference Times Beach on I-44. As a kid, I can remember driving by the faded sign and my parents telling me the story of the dioxin poisoning. I can't listen to that song without flashing back to sitting in the back seat of my dad's Pontiac Bonneville while we drove through Missouri.
