I conservatively estimate that about half of Air's entire output is beautiful.

Just came up on the Walkman:

Tired of Being Alone. Al Green.

Saw him live in Tampa in 1984 - what a show.

Gosh, I should have been in bed an hour ago. But this thread was way worth it. Artists have mostly been mentioned, but different songs.
Let Me Touch You for Awhile -- Alison Krauss (three times from the first or second row. amazing.)
My Old Addiction -- kd lang covers the carpenters
This Year's Love -- David Gray
Dig Down Deep -- Marc Cohn
    Heal Over -- KT Tunstall
In Your Eyes -- Peter Gabriel
    Fast Changes -- Seal

Might've been mentioned, but "Hallelujah" by Jeff Buckley deserves to be high on this list.

I don't know if these have been mentioned on this thread or not, but I'll shoot anyway:

"Maryland" by Vonda Shepard (I know Double Down mentioned it in the Song Memories thread, but it bears repeating).

"Listen To Your Heart" (the DHT cover). I can never remember their initials, but the version I hear on the radio is just piano and voice, which really brings out the lyrics more poignantly in my opinion.

How about "Showman's Life" by Gary Allan and Willie Nelson? Also, along those lines, "Life Ain't Always Beautiful" by Gary Allan is an absolutely beautiful song, especially considering the events of his life around the time he recorded it.

"Tell Lorrie I Love Her" by Keith Whitley is another beautiful song, if only for the pain in his voice.

"I'll Kiss Your Memory" -- The Bee Gees

Apparently it was on a solo album by Barry Gibb back in about 1970. I found it on cd #1 of their four-disc box set. Truly a beautiful song.

Late night drinking session (a couple Short's Brewing Ginger in the Rye, bombers of 2010 Smuttynose Wheat Wine and 2007 Great Divide Old Ruffian Barley Wine) and YouTube viewing brings me back to a few more fitting tunes:

Queen: You're My Best Friend (song I sung to Mrs. Fly when I proposed)

    Queen: Spread Your Wings

    Firehouse: Love of a Lifetime

This thread needs to be brought back, dammit.

    EDIT:

George Michael singing Somebody to Love at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert...one of the best live songs ever
