    Great thread.

    Dreunc1542 posted my favorite band's most popular song, but Live's perennial encore song -- every show I've seen in the last five years has ended with it -- is the one I'd describe as most beautiful: "Dance With You" (
    )

    Another choice from the same band: "Sparkle" (
    )

    Good call on Mazzy Star.

    I'll add "The Last Time I Saw Richard" by Joni Mitchell, though you could choose any number of her songs. The touch of sadness is oddly beautiful, though.

    Goddamn Lonely Love is just about my favorite sad song ever.

    Have you seen Isbell live? Not on purpose, but I seem to be following the guy all over the last few years. He puts on a great show. What a talent.

    "Heart like a Wheelo" , McGarrigle Sisters.

    Made famous by Linda Ronstadt's cover but no one does it like Kate & Anna.

    Heartbreakingly beautiful.

    Great thread.

    My top pick: The Kinks, "Waterloo Sunset"

    Others receiving votes:

    George Harrison, "Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp"

    My favorite Christmas song by far, and I think this is absolutely a beautiful song, and my wife thinks I'm absolutely nuts: The Pogues, "Fairytale of New York"

    Great call earlier on "Still Be Around" by Uncle Tupelo.
