    Don't be so sure. He seems like one of these Trumpist assholes who will gladly lose several millions just so he can shutter an outlet he perceives as being part of the libruhl media.

    For all his faults, had Zell not grossly overpaid at $34/share to take Tribune private, a lot of 401(k)s would have been almost wiped out with the stock price dropping inexorably toward single digits.

    At the time the TRB shares previously given to employees each year under a 10-year ESOP plan (1991-2001) could only be sold and transferred to other stocks when the bearer turned 55.

    I was 46 and holding more than 4,000 depreciating shares when Zell came along and overpaid for them.
