Someone's going to make a run at Sean Miller someday and be very glad they did.

    Myrtle was a while ago.
I'd take Boone over Charlotte, any day of the week.
Surprising hire, if he takes it. My money was on something completely random — a DII guy or assistant at mid-major school.

The Floyd-to-Arizona hire is not going to go over well in Tucson. It will only get worse if (when?) Jamie Dixon takes over at USC.

If a new round of those furious Hitler videos with subtitles bashing this hire don't start popping up on YouTube within the next few days, I'll be extremely disappointed.

Is there something that says Pitt coaches must one day coach one of the Pac-10's Los Angeles schools?

Someone who knows more about this than me (line forms to the left)...why wouldn't Arizona give the interim guy a longer look?

Didn't see any AZ games before the tournament so I have no idea if the guy is any good or not. I do vaguely recall a couple head-slapping losses in the regular season, now that I think about it. (guys fouling the opponent at midcourt or something like that as time expires)

Yeah, that fouling thing happened twice. Same kid did it both times.

I think Pennell wasn't given a longer look because the Arizona job was supposed to be "prestigious," one that could draw a BIG name. Haha, turns out Livengood (the UA AD) was dead wrong.

Holy crap - Tim Floyd to Arizona? Amazing. I'm underwhelmed. Of all the coaches in the Pac10 - I'd put Floyd behind Howland, Romar, Montgomery and Sendek and until recently, Tony Bennett. Another big surprise is that there doesn't seem to have been much fruit on Lute Olson's coaching tree.

Myrtle is nicer than Boone (I'll concede the point to move the argument along), but the SoCon is a higher profile league than the Big South, and there are Group A high school gymnasiums nicer than Coastal's gym. ASU has a 9,000 seat arena that was finished just as Buzz bolted Boone the first time.

I might put Floyd behind those other guys, but I'd put him at the top of that heap of Pac-10 coaches in terms of recruiting, and that is enough to vault him ahead of almost every one of them.

Even Ben Howland, who has the luxury of recruiting to the most prestigous and history-laden program on the planet, and one that happens to be on one of the most beautiful - in terms of weather, in terms of what it looks like, in terms of extra eye candy (i.e. females walking around in short shorts) isn't as good of a recruiter as Floyd.

I completely bought the PTI joke yesterday to start the show.

Floyd to Arizona is a terrible decision. Heck, Bennett would have been better. I just don't see the Tucson fans putting up with the general sliminess of Floyd.

The Wildcats have always had this "we are the good guys" image in Arizona over Arizona State (for very good reason), but with Herb at ASU and Floyd at UofA, I see a little juxtapositioning going on.
