SJ.COM All-purpose dating thread

Shit, it got to the point I just said to my mom "He's on SJ" and she understood.

 

My parents actually understand that now, too.

me: "Yeah, I'm hanging out with sportswriter friends."
mom: "Oh, from that SJ thing?"
me: "yeah" (thinking: shit, why did I ever offer up that tidbit ...)

 

I do believe the "conference" excuse has been used, at least to explain why one was meeting up with strangers on the other side of the country.

 

Especially for when one was going to spend one's 21st birthday with said strangers.

Funny. My mother-in-law is getting to the point where she understands what SJ is. Seems like once a week I'm referencing something. It usually unfolds like this:

Me: "Yeah, this fuckface outofplace was pissing me off about baseball and salary caps so I told him to fuck off and then kicked the stationary bike and that's why there's a hole in the wall there."
Mother-in-law: "Outofplace? What the hell?"
Wife: "The message board."
Mother-in-law: "Oh yeah the one for sportswriters."
Wife: "Can I stay with you again tonight, Ma?"

 

BYH, you'll laugh at this. I talk about you occasionally, telling my mom (some of) our convos and I use your real name, and she stops me and says "Now that's BYH, right?" And I say, "Yes, mom, can I continue now?"

 

We have totally SJ-jacked the dating thread. Holy shit.

This is starting to remind me why I never talk to my wife about this place.

 

Because she somehow thinks you're normal?

 

The woman has known me for 14 years. I'm not that good of an actor.
