Mind if I ask your age? That can make a difference ...

  5. Well, when my dad took me to my first Reds game as a kid, Pete Rose had just signed with the Phillies, so I am old enough I guess. That's what makes all of this different - it is not like I am a 20-year old who isn't really all that experienced in love. (my apologies to those that age). This whole thing really caught me off-guard. I had just signed up for six months on an online dating site, and then we went out a few weeks later.

But I know I am happy because it is her, not just because I am in a relationship. I am positive of that. I've never laughed so much with anyone. We never run out of things to say, and she's even seen my bad Yoda and Miyagi impressions and still wants to go out with me.

But there's more to it than that. She's told me very private things, and I have told her too, and when we are together at night I can't imagine being anywhere else. She looks at me, and the rest of the world stops. I'm not thinking marriage yet (at least not for a while), but I know these feelings aren't just because of a pretty face. She truly lets me be me, and she's pretty much herself too. We trust each other, and we really can talk about anything. And, we both really, really enjoy each other's company. She has told me all of this, and I even have a well-placed source (her best friend) who backs that up too.

I have a feeling once the words come out I'll ramble more than Lloyd did when he asked out Diane in Say Anything. But they will come from my heart when that time comes.

  6. That is pretty damn funny. She would laugh, because we've referenced that song before. ;)

OK ... I'm more comfortable with the six-week thing then ... When you're older and a little bit more in tune with who you are and what you want in a mate, things can all come together nicely at a quick pace.
    Good luck!
