I think that might be the best analogy I've ever heard ... for anything, but especially since it works so well on this topic.

 

The only ex I'm totally cool with now is one which split because she had a massive drug problem. I used to write her (by hand) in the early stages of her recovery, but we drifted and didn't speak for seven years.

I found her again on myspace a few years ago (she cleaned up and has built a wonderful life) and now we're probably better friends than we were in the beginning.

I can honestly say that I don't love her anymore though.
