A few more one-vote (but not one-hit) wonders:

No. 226: ONE HEADLIGHT -- The Wallflowers
No. 225: IN THE STONE -- Earth, Wind & Fire
No. 224: SHINE -- Collective Soul
No. 223: VIVA LA VIDA -- Coldplay
No. 222: SHE SELLS SANCTUARY -- The Cult
No. 221: ROLL ON DOWN THE HIGHWAY -- Bachman-Turner Overdrive

and, a one-vote and one-hit wonder that might have invented Heavy Metal"

No. 220: IN A GADDA DA VIDA -- Iron Butterfly

(for those who want to hear the 15-minute extended play, here it is ... HEAVYYYYYY!)

No. 216: DAMAGED GOODS -- Gang of Four
No. 215: I GOTTA FEELING -- Black Eyed Peas

    Great band from circa 1990.

Because it's just about "closing time" for me ... the rest of the 200s:

No. 210: TWENTY FIVE MILES -- Edwin Star
No. 209: SONG 2 -- Blur (whoo hoo! give it a listen:
    )
No. 208: TURN IT ON AGAIN -- Genesis
No. 207: BLACK MAGIC WOMAN -- Santana
No. 206: NEVER TOO LAGE -- Three Days Grace
No. 205: MODERN KICKS -- The Exploding Hearts

(had to link this one ... it really rocks!)

    ---------------------------------------------------------

No. 204: BANG A GONG (GET IT ON) -- T.Rex
No. 203: WHAT'S GOIN' ON -- Marvin Gaye
No. 202: CLOSING TIME -- Semisonic

and, to end the night with a bang, here's one of the best opening riffs of all time:

No. 201: GO ALL THE WAY -- The Raspberries

All decked out for The Mike Douglas Show!

The Raspberries are in. Shottie is as relieved as a fan of a bubble team on Selection Sunday. :D

The bottom third of this countdown is pretty fucking good. Can the top 200 live up to the standard that's already been set?

Great stuff, Coco. Fun to follow along.

Marc Bolin of T. Rex fame (204) played the guitar lick on Nutbush City Limits (275). Or so the story goes.

There's the question. Raspberries at 201 ... can you clear that high-jump bar 200 times? ;)

That T. Rex album, "Electric Warrior," was one of the better ones of its era, front to back.

Just like an Indy car scraping its way across the finish line ... time to re-ignite the countdown!

    No. 200: UPRISING -- Muse

A down on its luck town, a rusty Chevrolet ... it wasn't for the cool-dude members of Muse riding around, this video could have been shut in Michigan's U.P.!

Agreed, shotglass ... I always liked the song "Jeepster" even more than "Bang a Gong"

No. 199: COURAGE -- The Tragically Hip

One of Canada's finest; a cool band that's still going strong nearly 20 years after this song came out.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Time for a few more golden oldies, starting with this rarely-played gem from Love:

No. 198: THE DAILY PLANET -- Love

No. 197: GREEN GRASS AND HIGH TIDES -- The Outlaws
No. 196: RADIO RADIO -- Elvis Costello

We'll be hearing from the "other Elvis" a bit later.

No. 195: CRAZY ON YOU -- Heart

Vintage "Midnight Special" video from back in the day, when Ann & Nancy were both SMOKIN' HOT (in this observer's opinion)

I could do without the Luke Skywalker wannabe band members, though ...

Forgot to send some Beach Boys your way: "Get Around", "California Girls" and "Good Vibrations" probably should be on there somewhere.

No. 194: BLACK GOLD -- Soul Asylum

Alternative rockers from Minneapolis who finally hit the jackpot with "Runaway Train" (and this song) in the early 1990s.

Another band that's still going strong ... and they won't be the last Minneapolis artist we hear from in this countdown.
