Once you cross the border, it's around a 4 hour drive from Windsor to downtown Toronto

    It's Cdn$.

$125 Us is about $110 Cdn right now.

Not a huge difference right now

Hey, that amounts to $45 for three nights. In my current financial situation -- that's a big difference. :D

OK. So are we talking $45/night in U.S. money? I'm so confused.

No, about $110. Elphie was talking about the combined difference between US and Canadian dollars if you stayed three nights in the hotel (Cdn$125 v. US$110 = $15 x 3 nights = $45).

It just sucks for you guys that the U.S Dollar went in the tank since the trip was planned. I get paid in U.S dollars, and changing my checks has become increasingly depressing... When I was getting $1.59 for a U.S. dollar, it was high-rolling, brothers and sisters.

But the charges don't hit the credit card until after the hotel stay is complete. Only a "hold" is put on there for now. And, who knows, by miracle exchange rates could improve in favor of us non-Canucks by July.

OK, probably not. And even if it does, soaring gas prices will take up any of that extra windfall.

Gas is brutal up here right now. $1.02 a litre which works out to about $3.30 Usd a gallon.

Strangely, they're both 15 minutes from Tahoe. Must reread my Hawking to find an explanation for this.
