Will this be like last year, where about 30 people said they were showing and about 10 out-of-towners actually came?

I think I've already secured the time off. My boss owes me one, seeing as I'm chained to the desk for 10 straight nights in the next couple weeks (followed by four days off, then seven more days in a row).

I hope not. I really am making an effort, and a friend of mine from work wants to come too even though he's never heard of this place. I think he's just up for a road trip that involves a lot of alcohol.

Are there any group plans besides the baseball game?  Anyone else want to check out the Hockey Hall of Fame? (I missed it last time I was in town... five years ago.  ;D)

Organized non-sports outings would be much appreciated, since the boy couldn't care less about pretty much anything that sounds like work to the rest of us.  And I don' wanna plan my vacation!

    I'm down for anything.

PD, what day would this hockey visit be?

    Shit.
    Outing's cancelled. :-[

Please book your hotel soon if you're coming and order your ball tickets from HC.

And as I've mentioned, Hockey Hall of Fame is a block from the hotel.

I'll look into group rates if there's enough interest.

So far I've had 13 people request baseball tickets and several more are just waiting to decide which days they want.  Add JR and myself and I expect we'll get a decent turn out.

It doesn't hurt that some people really felt they had missed out after reading the "SJ Outing 2005" thread last year.  :D

Last year was a blast, primarily because the host did such a fine job (cough, cough). You guys are left with a tough act to follow but I know you will outdo last year by miles and miles (or kilometres and kilometres).

For all those who went last year, something to remind you of our favorite hangout, Pimps and Hos:

At least the women all seem to be coming with attachments in tow, thus limiting the possibility of any SportsJournalists.com Fest '06 babies.
