I had sent the original Pickle Juice post to somebody and just dug it out of e-mail for anybody who's interested.....

I think we need a ruling on this, but I am equally certain that Webby didn't start his board until Sportspages demolished its original forum, replacing it with a weak and short-lived registration-required board....long after Matthews.

Major props on the Third Secret of Fatima, btw.  Can't believe I remember this one: the guy was asking for the name of Newsday's sports editor.

Completely true, I was wrong...it was Freeman first, and then Matthews.

    Great thread.

I had a long post typed up this a.m. and my computer froze as I went to hit "post."
A message from above, I think, although I thought it was a pretty good post if I do say so myself.
You'll just have to take my word on that.

    The only part I'll recreate:

I love 21 dearly but do not, do NOT, leave her in charge. Dools, it wasn't two weeks. It was NINETEEN days.

Seriously, why would you people have that big neon button that says DO NOT CLICK ON THIS! if you didn't really want someone to click on it??

And didn't I go find all those nice fallout shelters, asap?? I SAID I WAS SORRY!

Yeah, yeah. I'm pretty much over it now, until someone else brings it up.

I found out how many people knew my real identity during those 19 days, as the phone calls increased daily. I can only imagine what Webby had to deal with on that end.

Ever notice how it seems more and more people were around here during the sportspages boards? And how more and more people claim they were once Anon 9:47 before Wally Matthews came along? Just sayin.

I almost mentioned the map of hawaii. But it's been used almost never in the last year or so, and thus figured since I first raised that term on the board (though certainly didn't invent it) I'd just be tooting my own horn.

Oh man, I hope that isn't the only thing I've ever contributed here.

Snakes on a Plane: Action-horror movie set for release in August 2006 starring Samuel L. Jackson which has become an Internet and SportsJournalists.com phenomenon well in advance of its release.

A scant mention of the words "snakes" or "motherfucking" is guaranteed to liven up a dying thread with follow-up posts containing numerous fake movie posters.

Memorable quote from this movie: "I've had it with these motherfucking snakes on this motherfucking plane!"

Does anyone remember the year sportspages.com got started. Was it late 90's?

I heard about it because they interviewed Rich Johnson on the FAN590 when he first started it up and I thought, how cool.

The guy I absolutely miss the most from the old days is Jonaco.

I was gonna point out that you brought that one!   ;D

Probably the people who say they were in the Anon days actually were - it's not like it's something to brag about.   ;D  I freely admit I came over in the Wally Matthews onslaught.  I read about SportsJournalists.com in the NY Post and was part of that wave.

The old board was really kind of scary.  Freewheeling, yes.  Fun?  Yes.  But libelous as hell.

    One thread was:

So Which Female Sports Broadcasters Have Done the Baked Chicken with Athletes?

And it just listed names and speculation.......

    Hence the term Baked Chicken.

You knew it was coming ... ;D

So just this once, even though this thread is nowhere close to flat-lining:
