Slang you hate

    not bad...methinks isn't slang but is a word that I despise.

    I've never heard anyone use that but middle-aged people.

    The radio traffic reports here say such things as, "We have an accident working on I-10 eastbound near Seigen."

    I can respect an accident working. It's those lazy-ass accidents that loaf on the job that irritate me.

  7. I can't stand, "The Tom Bradys and Peyton Mannings will make this a great game."
    What's wrong with just specifying that it is a particular Tom Brady or Peyton Manning we're talking about?

    I hate the usage of "love" as in "their giving the Cavaliers some love" or "the Cavaliers are getting some love."

    Look: I couldn't care less what they do in bed. :)

    Of course, I bristle at "commentate," so what do I know?
