    That was a gong show.

The Hawks are probably the smartest organization in hockey and I'm shocked they brought him in. Then to have the gall to say that they only want hockey questions. I'm not sure they could have come off worse.

    Embarrassing performance.

As for the court case itself, Blackhawks sure left me the perception they believe in his innocence.

So, he wore a condom. What a gentleman.

Eh, maybe. That doesn't seem likely. Even the former DA says it's rare.

    Other possible scenarios:

    • They didn't have sex, but she feels she was assaulted in some other way. Hands inside pants despite her protestations or lack of giving consent. I think that's what happened in the notorious Notre Dame football alleged assault a few years ago that ended in the woman's suicide.
    • They had sex, with a condom, but he did some things that she didn't feel like she consented to, or told him "no" to. The Lena Dunham-type situation from her book, if you'll recall: "I never told him he could be that rough with me."
    • He tried to push her to have sex, she said "no," and he eventually relented without doing it, but not before she felt he had crossed into assault land.

Do you believe he believes he didn't rape her?

    I don't know.

For the 100th time, Mr. Smarty Pants, would you like to explain what's wrong about me saying I believe that she believes she was raped/assaulted? How would you phrase it?
