Consistency is the key, but people will still read into it any sort of conspiracy.

We've had two Little League teams playing in state tournaments this week. (Before you ask why we're not covering, we had an area high school team in the state baseball tournament, two area high school softball teams to go to state, plus Mike Sweeney was doing his rehab assignment with the local minor-league baseball team).

Team A coach calls in as soon as game is over, with stats and names and information, along with quotes. Team B coach calls when he feels like it, fails to call when they lose, and when he does call doesn't give any information other that final score and score by innings because "we don't want to emphasize personal stats."

Team A's coaches and parents have thanked us for what we've done and appreciate the coverage. Team A's parents also bought a congratulatory ad to put in the team photo.

Team B's parents are complaining we're not there to cover the games and we "only have small writeups" and "never write anything good about kids." And, they're demanding that we run the team photo in the sports section, even though it's not our policy to do so.

I just wanted to bump this to see if anyone has additional ideas before I begin putting something down on paper. Thanks!

Yeah. "Karate Kid 3" sucked. That movie was horrible.

Make sure you get your cut if you do ever convince a parent to buy an ad.
