Sounds like he targeted the offices of a federal government agency that he believes wronged him. That sounds like terrorism to me.

It sounds a lot like Timothy McVeigh.

McVeigh had a co-conspirator. Does it take more than one person for an act to be terrorism?

Sounds like an isolated case by one lunatic whose real goal was suicide.

The note is relatively well composed, yet its contents will likely be ignored.

Nothing to see here people. Move on.

Why are these people automatically dismissed as crazy know-nothing imbeciles?

The note was indeed reasonable. The government doesn't know or doesn't want to understand how pissed off the little man is getting in this country.

The postal workers were usually shooting up their own work sites, right?

As I recall, the motivations were work issues & personal issues, not some feeling of being abused by a government agency.

If suicide was his only goal, there are easier ways to accomplish it.

With murder suicides, murder is often the prime motivation. The suicide is their way of avoiding the consequences of the murder.

IRS agents. Pretty intimidating if you have to worry that any nut who might have a problem with you might decide to fly a plane into your offices.

The IRS isn't intimidated by anyone or anything. Or shouldn't be.

It has the power to crawl up anyone's ass, just for fun.

    Some might call that 'terrorism.'

By that definition, the post-office workers who went nuts are terrorizing their colleagues because they never know when another worker who has a problem with their bosses will decide to shoot up the place again.]
